In the words of B.F. Skinner: “A failure is not always a mistake, it may simply be the best one can do under the circumstances. The real mistake is to stop trying.” Every moment is a teachable or learnable moment. We can do our best by trying and not allowing failure to lose the learnable moment. Applied Behavior Analysis examines the learning environment, and finds opportunities to reinforce learning in a beneficial way for the individual. I strive for every client to feel empowered by their own process and be reinforced by their success.

I believe that a safe and caring relationship brings meaning to life and promotes healing. In therapy, my aim is to cultivate a facilitative environment where clients can genuinely express themselves without the fear of judgment, thereby nurturing acceptance. This approach empowers them to uncover effective strategies for navigating life's challenges. Within a secure relationship, clients can explore and maximize their potentials and strengths. In such an environment, clients are able to revisit and process painful and traumatic experiences with the provided support and warmth, ultimately leading to a reexperiencing of these events with an adaptive perspective.

Philosophy
I believe counseling is a collaborative journey where the therapist and client work together in a shared process of discovery, growth, and healing. Clients are encouraged to accept their thoughts and feelings as they are, without judgment, while exploring ways to live authentically and in alignment with their values, making meaningful changes for their well-being. Change happens in the context of relationship, and therapy provides a safe space for clients to express themselves, build trust, and develop deeper interpersonal skills. By understanding their relational patterns, clients can move from feelings of isolation to connection, fostering growth both within themselves and in their interactions with others.
I also recognize that each individual exists within a larger context—be it family, culture, or community. Just as a book is part of a larger story, people are part of complex systems that shape their experiences. The goal is to help clients understand how their family dynamics or societal influences impact their thoughts, behaviors, and relationships, fostering balance and harmony within these systems.

Philosophy
I am here to listen and help you work through obstacles you may have. I provide a safe environment to talk about your hurts, hang-ups, shame and fear. I accept you where you are and appreciate where you want to be. I take my role seriously as a Christian counselor to take up your “burdens” and help you overcome with love and deep compassion.
My approach is interactive and collaborative. I am both bilingual and bicultural, fluent in English and Korean. I am also a trauma-focused EMDR therapist. As a result, I am well qualified to work with those struggling with acculturation and major life transitions. I am a Christian counselor, but non-Christians are most definitely welcome.

Philosophy
Carl G. Jung said “Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness”. There are moments you feel everything around you pulls you in deeper. Everyone in the world has been disappointed, damaged and lost at some point in their life, and you might need to carry that throughout your life. But you should not let these moments define you. As a clinical forensic psychologist, I perform clinical therapies and forensic interviews, psychological assessments, and individualized treatment plans around clinical issues relating to psychology and the legal system.
I believe all the answers to the questions that you have been asking yourself can be found within you if you are brave enough to look inside yourselves. Therefore I make every endeavour to explore my clients' minds, past experiences and current problems together in order to facilitate positive changes and to have a more fulfilled life.

Philosophy
I believe that individuals navigate the world through unique "worldviews," shaped by experiences and emotions. Understanding and acknowledging these experiences and feelings is critical for promoting healing and growth.
Learning to love and be loved is the key to restoring connection with our important others, which guide us to become aware of our own experiences and emotions and express them effectively.
Expanding more, this builds emotional receptivity in relationships, while removing toxic interaction patterns paves the space for connection and healing.
Favorite Quote
"The key to restoring connection is, first, interrupting and dismantling these destructive sequences and then actively constructing a more emotionally open and receptive way of interacting, one in which partners feel safe confiding their hidden fears and longings."

Philosophy
In my therapeutic approach, I prioritize creating a nurturing and secure environment where individuals can feel both safe and heard. I firmly believe that establishing a sense of safety and mutual understanding is the foundation of personal growth and healing. By creating an environment that encourages openness and vulnerability, I aim to empower my clients to explore their thoughts and emotions, even when they may be distressing. Having witnessed too many people feeling abandoned by their loved ones or society, I wish to provide support to the clients on their own journey of self-discovery and well-being.
Professor Bessel A. van der Kolk said, "The greatest sources of our suffering are the lies we tell ourselves." Once we learn to be honest with ourselves and accept the broken parts, nothing else stands in our way.
